The Waikyru lodge is located 50m next to the Ponta da Maresia, one of the most beautiful beaches of the Amazonas.

From september to march, in the river's dry season, the beach wellcomes tourists that choose it for its unforgettable shape: a 600 meters long bright-white sand tongue inside the Maués-Açu river.

Next to it you can find the Antartica beach, almost 2km riverside walk, with showers, bares and lunch points.

The Waikyru Lodge may be an optimal base for trekking on the Maués surrounding, it offers deserved comfort at the end of a great adventure day. The city tourist office offers differents choices: adventure trekking (visiting the Amana waterfall, the old gold mine, the dungeon region and waterfall passtrought); forest's path (followed by an indian guide, discovering animals and plants, visit to the flooded forest); sport fishing (in the lago grande of the Sustentable Developing Reserve of the Urariá); archeologic and rural tourism (visit to the villages, tipical lunch with a community, visit to the archeological area and historic points of the city, miths and legend's folkloric apresentations).

And for all who enjoy the brazilian way, the city has three tradicional parties: Street's Carnival (from saturday to the fat tuesday), Summer Festival (first week of september) and Guaraná Fest (november's last week)
